The innovation pilgrimage: Engaged connects with a dedicated audience
Pilgrims head to Santiago de Compostela, having made a long trek to get there.
On Monday 28th April 2014, members of Engaged found the city to be an equally satisfying destination. The Galician innovation initiative, Innova Saude, held its first international meeting on healthcare innovation in the region. Galicia – which is one of the European Innovation Partnership's reference sites – made a perfect spot to talk about innovation in healthcare. Marielle Swinkels of Engaged spoke persuasively about the thematic network's innovative methods and approach to the challenge of ageing. She was joined on-stage by George Crooks from United4Health http://www.united4health.eu and Marc Lange from Momentum http://telemedicine-momentum.eu/project/.
The afternoon ended with a panel facilitated by Engaged member, Diane Whitehouse of EHTEL, which focused on how European stakeholders can commit to sharing mutual learning experiences around the societal challenge of innovating to ensure active and healthy ageing: http://www.galiciahealthinnovation.com/?lang=en If you read Spanish, a short article on this session features in Spain's Diario Medico (see copy in the Documents section of this website).
