Final Conference of ENGAGED - Living Labs and Impact Investing to Fuel AHA Innovations

3 Jun 2015 - 09:30

The Final Conference of the ENGAGED Thematic Network for Active & Healthy Ageing (AHA) will be held on June 3, 2015 in Eindhoven. This conference is part of ‘Think Dementia’, the final event of the Interreg IV-B project INNOVATE Dementia. The ENGAGED and the Interreg IV-B project e-Ucare have jointly organised the track “Market Implementation” within this international event, in cooperation with Brabant, region of Smart Health.

Market Implementation and Impact Investing

Through this track, ENGAGED will follow up the jointly organised CORAL sessions on impact investing presented at the European Summit on Innovation for AHA in Brussels last March.  One of the important outcomes of the Summit was the need to focus more on the market uptake of proven AHA solutions. We still lack stakeholders from the investment sector to move towards this second stage of market uptake. In order to attract investors, we need to highlight the impact and scalability of solutions. Living Labs throughout Europe can play an important role, since entrepreneurs want to test their innovations in different European contexts. This allows them to demonstrate more clearly the potential impact and scalability to investors and procurers.

Unique

We have to stop merely stating that we must involve the investment sector. Instead, we must move into action mode.

Bringing the networks of ENGAGED, e-Ucare and Innovate Dementia together at the ‘Think Dementia’ conference, offers a unique opportunity to develop and experiment with an Impact Programme for Excellent Smart Health Innovations across Europe.  As such this is a concrete follow up to the ENGAGED project, aiming to continue the work on the roadmaps developed for creating impact. This first Impact session is organized together with various Living Labs, entrepreneurs and investment experts. Based on this experience the concept could be further developed during other European events.

Programme

There will be a specific focus on innovations for people living at home with dementia. On 3 June you will be introduced to several Living Labs. Entrepreneurs from Brabant and other European regions will pitch on their proven AHA innovations on dementia. A panel of experts from Living Labs and other stakeholder perspectives will provide feedback on the innovations presented. Consequently, all participants and the expert panel together will vote and choose the Excellent Smart Health Innovation. The winner will be offered professional advice and consultancy to bring the innovation closer to the market. In short, on 3 June we offer you a conference with an impact!

We hope to engage with you at our final conference on the 3rd of June! Please register through the Think Dementia website. Participation is free of charge. *

Kind regards,

The ENGAGED Consortium

* A Networking Dinner is part of the programme. However, you need to register separately for this event. After registering for the conference through the Think Dementia-website, you will automatically receive further information regarding the dinner.
